Reclamation - The Battle for Terra Firma highlights the environmental crimes and public safety threats posed by the international Drug Trafficking Organizations (DTO). With this threat widespread throughout California and 21 other states throughout the US, Stewart’s 26-minute film shocks with vivid images of the decimation to our nation’s wildlands, wildlife and waterways happening dangerously close to homes, schools, and other urban population centers.
Stewart’s award-winning Patriot Profiles series was honored as best new program on Sportsman’s Channel in 2012, and his film crew returned to California in 2016 to film a follow up documentary, War in the Woods, highlighting John’s historical special operations tactical unit of California game wardens and K9’s, the Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET). Rick’s crew captured these wildlife warriors executing their statewide mission to arrest armed and violent cartel trespass growers, eradicate their illegal and poisoned marijuana crops, and spearhead the reclamation and restoration of extensive environmental damages caused by these cartel factions. |

![]() Wild Justice, airing from 2011 to 2013 on the Nat Geo channel, was an award winning TV show that followed the real lives of game wardens. It was in instant hit with is gritty, authentic look at wardens on the Thin Green Line of conservation.
Each week different environmental crimes were discovered and investigated by the game wardens from California's Department of Fish and Wildlife. As a Lieutenant with the Department and a fierce protector of the environment, John became an integral part of the show from the beginning. The show follows them along 1,100 miles of coastal waters to California's high deserts and the giant sequoia forests to the Sierra Nevada mountains. Only 159 California game wardens patrol all of the state's 159,000 square miles. It’s a beat that’s home to a human population of 36 million, and a habitat and wildlife diversity that is unequaled by any other state. Working alone, and sometimes with a canine companion, these wildlife officers work day and night, often patrolling rural areas where back-up can be hours away. Every day is an adventure, and no two days the same. |
